Safekeeping

by Tim Ungaro

One of uncle’s maps
has become yellowed
round the edges

as I struggle
to remember how to
write his name

and just now I found
an inscription on the page
of an old book signed ‘Pa’

and a flower you had
tucked away for
safe keeping

is an interdisciplinary artist living on Gundungurra and Darug land in the Blue Mountains, NSW. He is interested in the intersections of personal narrative, archival record and cultural memory, particularly as they manifest in the Australian landscape.

An Australian and international
journal of ecopoetry and ecopoetics.

Plumwood Mountain Journal is created on the unceded lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and to elders past, present and future. We also acknowledge all traditional custodians of the lands this journal reaches.
