New Managing Editor and Editorial Administration Team from 2021

On behalf of Plumwood Incorporated and the Plumwood Mountain Editorial Board, I am delighted to announce that from 2021 the New Editorial Administration Team will be lead by incoming Managing Editor, Amanda Lucas-Frith, and Sophie Finlay.

Amanda Lucas-Frith

Amanda Lucas-Frith
is a poet, publisher and editor living on Wangal land in Sydney. Her poetry has recently been included in Cordite Poetry Review and Mascara Literary Review, and she attended the 2019 Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference in Sicily. Two of her poems can be viewed here:

Amanda writes:

I’m excited by the interdisciplinary nature of ecopoetics and the fact its borders are malleable, enabling a range of discursive practices that can simultaneously define and redefine the field. Ecopoetry and ecopoetics play an essential role in helping us confront the challenges of living in the late Anthropocene.

Sophie Finlay

Sophie Finlay is a visual artist and poet from Melbourne (Naarm). Her poetry is published in multiple journals including Meanjin, Australian Poetry Journal, Cordite Poetry Review, Plumwood Mountain journal and Shaping the Fractured Self (UWAP). She has been a finalist in several art prizes including the prestigious John Leslie Art Prize. A link to her most recent work published in Plumwood Mountain journal is here:

Sophie writes:

I’m interested in ecopoetry that examines human orientations to nature, recognises intersecting, mutual social oppressions, locates authentic articulations of the ontological and material realities of the more-than-human realm and invokes concepts of a transformative, lyrical and attuned ecological self.

It has been an honour to serve the poetry community and the wider Earth community as managing Editor of Plumwood Mountain journal since its inception in late 2013, and I look forward with confidence to handing the journal on to Amanda, Sophie and their team in mid-December ready for its new life in 2021. Between them Amanda, Sophie and their team have experience in publishing, editing, librarianship, and environmental activism, in addition to their own writing.

Anne Elvey, Outgoing Managing Editor

16 November 2020.
